Speech & language services:

helping your child to thrive socially, academically, and beyond

Services Offered

It all starts with a phone call. You may be concerned and wondering where to go for answers. On the call, I will listen and answer any questions you have. If your child needs something that I don’t provide, I can offer recommendations. There is no gatekeeping here! I would love to support you on your journey. Please don’t hesitate to call.

Each comprehensive speech & language evaluation includes a caregiver interview to understand your child’s strengths and their needs, an observation of your child in their natural environment, play-based assessment, and standardized assessment. I do my best to make the evaluation easy for the child through play and movement whenever possible.

Evaluation results are shared in a sensitive and honest way. My reports recognize what your child CAN do, as well as where they could use support. We meet to go over the findings, and then we agree on therapy goals based on the child’s skills and the family’s priorities.

Although therapy sessions may look and feel a lot like play to your child, strategies are evidence-based and carefully chosen for your child’s unique needs. Parents are invited and encouraged to be active participants, learning effective strategies for maximum carry-over during the week. My goal is to “work myself out of a job”, so that parents are fully equipped to be their child’s most involved helper should they wish to do so.

Sessions may take place in the comfort of your home or other community setting, such as preschool/daycare, or via teletherapy for those who prefer it.

Hello and welcome!

My name is Rebecca Castle, and I’m the SLP behind Confident Kids Pediatric Therapy. I’m a licensed speech-language pathologist in the state of California (Lic.# SP 23860) and a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) holder from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). With 10 years of experience in the public schools, specialized programs for children with complex needs, and coaching parents directly in the home setting, I've worked with children and young adults of all developmental levels and disabilities. I’m qualified to treat needs related to autism, speech-sound disorders, childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), those needing augmentative-alternative communication (AAC), and more. Early childhood language and AAC are my very favorite! I began this private practice out of a desire to increase the focus on my areas of special interest, offer clients more individualized attention, and work closer with families.

I provide in-home therapy around the northern Santa Cruz County area and teletherapy to clients throughout California. Please contact me for a free consultation. I look forward to helping your child or young adult thrive!
